 Team Trips

On February 14, 2020, 21 of us arrived in Uganda. Our ages ranged from teens to 70's, representing 3 different churches.

We started our trip with the official opening of the Good Samaritan Medical Clinic. Although it was not complete at the time, it was a wonderful building that will fill the need for thousands in this rural area.

Thousands from the surrounding villages  joined in the celebration, including the Bishop, local pastors, a choir, and a school band.  People got there however they could!

We spent the next few days at the Kibbuse Vocational Technical Centre, the school associated with the Friends of Kibbuse organization

Working on the pit for the automotive tech classes.  It was a group effort!

Building stoves so the cook won't have to cook over an open fire in a hut.

Hooking up the computer lab. WiFi and electricity are not always available so it was important to bring enough computers for the students to fulfill their academic needs.

One member of our group raises cattle and spoke with a group of Ugandans about the importance of vaccinations, and how using bull semen brought from the United States to inseminate Ugandan cows could increase size and milk production. There was a larger than expected turnout for his presentation.  The rest of the week he, his daughter and a local veterinarian traveled to farms in the area testing, vaccinating, and inseminating local cows. We are all excited to hear the results of their hard work.

We spent some time at a local primary school...

singing praise songs                                                                                                   reading Bible stories

and coloring and playing games.

On our last day at the primary school the kids lined up to give us gifts. It was truly heartwarming

We made friends wherever we went!

Bob and Brenda Schuyler spent three years living at the Kibbuse Vocational Technical Centre. They are continued supporters of the Kibbuse Foundation and the founders of Friends of Kibbuse. They were honored with a plaque dedicating the Motor Vehicle, Machines, Carpentry and Joinary Workshop that was presented to them, and it is on permanent display on the building wall.

We were lucky enough to spend a day a Murchison Falls National park.  We spent the morning on a safari ride seeing some amazing animals. In the afternoon we took a boat ride up the Nile River, then hiked up to the top of the falls.

God truly blessed us on our trip. Not only were all our flights on schedule but the timing was perfect. We arrived home just a few weeks before the world started shutting down due the the COVID-19 virus.

But our work is not done. The Friends of Kibbuse foundation continues to support, financially and prayfully, the Good Samaritan Clinic and the Kibbuse Vocational Technical Centre.

If it is in God's plans, this will not be our last trip!
